Movies and TV Shows

Movies

1) The first movie I would recommend is The Purge. This is an ongoing series, the movie movie coming out in 2013 and the 5th and 6th still being made. The first movie stars actor Ethan Hawke and actress Lena Headey as the parents of a family in danger in their own home on the infamous purge night. On purge night, anything is legal for 12 hours, and all hell breaks loose.

2) The second movie I would recommend is Halloween, a slasher film from 1978. This movie stars Jamie Lee Curtis, a young girl who is babysitting a child on Halloween night. Michael Myers, the young boy who was locked up after murdering his sister, escapes and returns to his violent tendencies many years later.

3) The third movie I would recommend is Guardians of the Galaxy. This film came out in 2014, and the third is still being made. This movie, part of the MCU universe, stars Chris Pratt as the wanna-be outlaw Peter Quill (aka Star Lord) and Zoe Saldana as Gamora. When the lives of everyone in the galaxy is at stake, they make an unlikely team to save us all.

4) The fourth and last movie I would like to recommend is The Hunger Games. This is a series of four movies, the first coming out in 2012. The Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence as the main character, Katniss Evergreen, and Josh Hutcherson as her "star crossed lover" Peeta Mellark. The two have to survive the deadly Hunger Games, a battle to the death competition held by the sick Capitol.

TV Shows

1) The first show I would highly recommend is The 100. This is a Sci-Fy show that first aired in 2014, the seventh and final season coming out summer of last year. The 100 stars Eliza Taylor as the calculated Clarke Griffen and Bob Morley as Bellamy Blake, the leader of the group. It also includes more main actors like Marie Avgeropoulos. It follows a group of teens who were sent down to the once radiated earth after the oxygen on their space station begins to fail. They navigate wars, simple survival, and saving humanity again and again.

2) I would also recommend The Umbrella Academy. This show landed on Netflix in 2019. TUA stars Elliot Page, Robert Sheehan, Aiden Gallagher, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Justin. H. Min, Tom Hopper, and David Castaneda as seven siblings with powers. They reunite as adults when their emotionally abusive father dies. Then they have to stop the world form ending, and get shot back in time to the sixties.
